The Midwest Regional
Chapter of the Society of Quality Assurance (MWSQA)
began with an organizational meeting of 35 Quality Assurance
professionals in July of 1991. This meeting established By-Laws
and Nominating Committees, selected a Chapter Name, set the
annual dues, and initiated plans for the first official
Chapter meeting in 1992.
The original Chapter
region encompassed Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan,
Ohio, and Western Pennsylvania. Iowa, Eastern Kansas,
Minnesota, Missouri, West Virginia, and Wisconsin have now
been added. Membership has steadily grown to over 300.
Each year the chapter
arranges at least one MWSQA conference meeting which is open to MWSQA
members and non-members as well. Conference meetings are held at various
locations in the MidWest region. Meeting sites have been located throughout
the entire Chapter area. The conferences generally consist of one to three
days of training, presentations, and discussions.
The Chapter newsletter, "News
From the Heartland", was first published in
August 1993. The newsletter is published at least twice
per year and contains information and news for the membership.
The QA Classified advertises employment opportunities and QA related products,
as well as National SQA and other Regional Chapter meeting and training announcements.
